How can I transfer vehicle ownership online?

Enter the vehicle number, choose the vehicle type, state and service, add the buyer and seller details, upload the Aadhaar of both and the RC, and pay online. Our team prepares and submits the application on the Vahan portal of the state transport department and updates both buyer and seller on WhatsApp at every step.

What documents are required for RC transfer?

For ownership transfer you need the Aadhaar card of the buyer, the Aadhaar card of the seller and the Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle. Valid insurance and PUC are also needed by the RTO. If the vehicle has a loan, the bank NOC is required. Our team tells you if your RTO needs anything more.

How many days does RC transfer take?

We process your request within 1 hour to 72 hours after payment and complete documents. After that the RTO issues the new RC as per its own timeline, and you can track the application status on the Vahan portal using the application number we share.

What are the RC transfer charges?

The total shown before payment is the government fee for your vehicle type and state plus our service charge. Both are shown separately on the form and there are no hidden charges.

Do the buyer and seller both get updates?

Yes. Transport Dekho sends WhatsApp updates to both the buyer and the seller when the request is received, when processing starts and when it is completed, so both sides always know the status.

Can I transfer a second hand bike or car RC online?

Yes. Ownership transfer is available for two wheelers like bikes and scooters, four wheelers like cars and jeeps, commercial vehicles and tractors, depending on the options available for your state.

What is HP cancel or hypothecation removal?

HP cancel removes the bank or finance company name from the RC after the vehicle loan is fully paid. You usually need the bank NOC and Form 35. Choose HP Cancel as the service to apply.

How do I get a duplicate RC?

If the RC is lost, stolen or damaged you can apply for a duplicate RC with Form 26. Choose Duplicate RC as the service, upload the owner Aadhaar and any copy of the RC you have, and our team guides you on the FIR or affidavit your RTO needs.

When do I need an NOC to transfer a vehicle to another state?

An NOC (Form 28) is needed when you move a vehicle to another state and want to register it there. Choose NOC for Other State as the service to apply.

Is Transport Dekho a government website?
